Below them, Bakery by the Bay means some mornings begin with the smell of fresh bread on the stairs. Set your bag down, and the building does the rest. Come and settle in.

The Details

Designed for people who notice things

Old bones, modern soul

This building has stood on Hurontario since the mid-1880s, raised again in the years after the Great Collingwood Fire swept the street. Shipbuilders and merchants passed through its doors, and their names are still here, written by hand in the old ledgers. When we restored it, we kept faith with what was already in place. The brick is original. The beams overhead have held this roof for more than a century. And the timber we pulled from the walls during the work never left the building. It became the dining tables in the Foundry and the Hearth, and the shelving throughout the suites, so the wood that once framed these rooms still holds them together.

Everything at the door

Step out and the whole of downtown is yours, cafés and shops along Hurontario, the water and the trails a short walk down, and the slopes of Blue Mountain a short drive past the edge of town. Come back in and it goes quiet again. This is the rare corner of Collingwood where you can be in the middle of everything and still hear yourself think.

The suites are on Hurontario whenever you are.
